Terms & Conditions – Icarian Wheels

1. Driver Age

  • Minimum age: 25 years for categories A & B, 27 years for categories C, D, and above.

  • Maximum age: 68 years.

  • Drivers who do not meet the age requirements at the rental counter will not be allowed to collect the car, and the full rental fee will be charged.

2. Driver’s License

  • Drivers must hold a valid license for at least five (5) years.

  • Accepted licenses: EU, US, UK, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Israel, Russia, Ukraine.

  • Drivers from other countries must present a valid International Driving Permit.

3. Traffic Violations

  • Any fines, tickets, or administrative penalties incurred during the rental period are the sole responsibility of the renter.

  • Unreported fines or penalties will be charged to the renter after the rental period.

4. Mileage

  • Unlimited mileage is included in all rental rates.

5. Taxes

  • All prices include VAT (17%).

6. Additional Drivers

  • The main driver is included at no additional cost

  • Maximum of three (3) drivers per rental (including the main driver).

  • Extra drivers: €5 per driver per day.

7. Insurance

  • All authorized drivers are covered by Third-Party Liability Insurance (death, injury, property damage). Coverage is subject to the insurer’s general terms.

  • Damages to the car’s underbody, tires, or wheels are not covered. Off-road driving is strictly prohibited.

  • Insurance is void if the vehicle is driven off-road, on beaches, in mountains, or on unpaved surfaces. Internal damages caused by the renter or any other person are not covered.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW): Renters can reduce their liability for damages (subject to compliance with Greek traffic laws) by paying €15/day. Excess: €600 + 17% VAT. CDW must be selected at booking or requested last minute.

Fire Insurance: Vehicles are not covered for fire.
Theft Insurance: Vehicles are insured against theft; excess is listed in the rental contract. Personal belongings are not covered.
Personal Accident Insurance: Covers medical costs and accidental death for renter and passengers. Damages exceeding coverage are the renter’s responsibility.

8. Roadside Assistance

  • Free 24/7 if the renter is not at fault. Otherwise, costs are charged to the renter.

  • Partner: Ydrogios Assistance.

  • Contact our office directly for assistance. Outside office hours, calls are diverted to our emergency mobile line.

9. Vehicle Selection

  • Bookings are based on car categories, not specific models.

  • Specific model requests can be added after booking confirmation and will be delivered if available.

  • If no car from the requested category is available, a higher category may be provided at no extra cost.

10. Vehicle Replacement

  • In case of accident or breakdown, vehicles will be replaced within 24 hours if available.

  • Replacement may be denied if terms & conditions were violated. In such cases, the renter is responsible for all damages and rental fees until repair.

11. Extras

  • Baby seat: €3/day (on request).

  • Flight delays: No extra charge; staff will wait for your arrival.

12. Vehicle Condition

  • All vehicles are modern, safe, and fully serviced.

  • Vehicles are checked before delivery.

  • Fuel: Return with the same level as delivered; otherwise, fuel will be charged in cash.

  • Lost keys: Renter is responsible for replacement or retrieval costs.

  • Tyres: Non-repairable tires are not covered; repairable tires may be repaired with reimbursement.

13. Delivery & Collection

  • Free at Airport & Agios Kirikos port.

  • Evdilos port: €25 pick-up, €25 drop-off.

  • Other locations may incur additional fees.

14. Ferry & Cross-Border

  • Ferrying or driving the car outside Ikaria is prohibited. Insurance is void, and the renter is fully liable for any damages.

15. One-Way Rentals

  • Allowed only if arranged at the start of rental and confirmed in the contract.

16. Deposit & Payment

  • 30% deposit required to confirm booking.

  • Payment accepted via cash, debit card, or bank transfer at pick-up.

  • A cash payment or valid credit card is required for pre-authorization of liability (€200–€500), fully refundable upon vehicle return.

17. Cancellation & No-Show

  • Cancel ≥30 days before pick-up for a full deposit refund.

  • No refund for cancellations <30 days or no-shows.

18. Amendments

  • Changes can be requested at any time, free of charge.

  • Rate adjustments may apply if the rental period changes.

  • Overpayments refunded; underpayments settled at pick-up.

19. Accidents

  • Contact Icarian Wheels immediately via 24/7 helpline.

  • Do not leave the scene without reporting. Contact police if company cannot be reached.

  • Renters are responsible for damages if accident is unreported.

20. Proper Use of Vehicle

  • Insurance and waivers are valid only if terms are respected.

  • Prohibited uses include:

    • Off-road, dirt roads, unauthorized roads

    • Traffic violations (STOP signs, speed limits, wrong direction, U-turns)

    • Parking violations

    • Racing, rallies, contests, taxi/courier use

    • Use by unlicensed or unregistered drivers

    • Driving under alcohol or drugs

    • Willful or reckless damage (burning out clutch, standing/sitting on bonnet/roof, interior damage)
